Articles - UNDERSTANDING STEROIDS – PART 2 (Submitted on 30 May 2004
Following our last article, we concluded that the major difference between an Anabolic Steroid and Testosterone is that an Anabolic Steroid is derived from a synthetically modified testosterone whereas Testosterone is naturally produced in one’s body.

Many of the synthetically modified sex hormones are orally active as a 17-alpha alkylated type. What this means, is that an extra carbon chain has been added to the original steroid. When a methyl group is added, it makes the steroid more resistant to change in the liver and hence still retains its properties when it enters the bloodstream. The more resistant it is to breaking up in the liver, the more toxic the steroid is on your liver and kidneys. Popular steroids were created by adding and changing the location of the carbon chain and hence the birth of new steroids, namely Dianabol (Anabol), Vinstrol (Stananozol), Anadrol (Oxymetholone), Anavar (Oxandrolone), Primabolan (Mesterolone) etc. Some of these, however posing very serious threats. For example, there have been people who took Anadrol to treat osteoporosis, who actually became riddled with liver cancer. Well, basically after that, they were pretty much screwed!

Oral steroids, soon replaced painful Jabs in the arse. Hence, oral steroids were much easier to market and sell and soon a new breed of individuals were born and a new generation was created on Dianaol – “the breakfast of Champions”. Until today, nothing has changed, other than Dianabol now been known as Anabol – “the new breakfast of Champions”. On the subject, let us not forget about our dear friend Ben Johnson. The poor buggar, who got nailed for taking Stananozol, was stripped of all his medals. So, at least when you think of Ben Johnson, and you think that Stananozol makes you run like hell, just don’t get caught, and if you do, just blame it on the British beef. At least you only got Stananozol poisoning and didn’t get mad cows disease. Ever wondered how fast a mad cow runs?

Americans like to think that they are the leaders in “Sports without Drugs” crusade. But, in reality, they are viewed as one of the dirtiest nations in the world. I would actually call it mass deception. Today’s athlete is bigger, stronger, and faster (exogenously through the mysterious ingestion of AAS). The problem arises when the Americans classify steroids as narcotic drugs. Let me put it to you this way: I have sampled every conceivable Anabolic Androgenic Steroid and I am still waiting to feel trashed. So let me remind you, steroids are medicinal drugs used to treat certain illnesses and provide athletes with a competitive edge.

In conclusion; yes, Anabolic Androgenic Steroids can be administered orally. Although oral ingestion of Steroids is far more convenient and easy to use, there are still many adverse side effects that one should be aware of. As with many over-the-counter medicines, even such as aspirin, taking a whole bottle at once could most definitely cause death.

Our quest is to tell you the truth about Steroids and provide you with a better understanding. We cannot change people’s minds, but we can give them the facts. Knowledge gives you power, which in turn, gives you the upper hand.
